# CiteKit Terms of Use (draft) **Status:** Draft for a pre-launch prototype. Not lawyer-reviewed. Not an offer of legal advice. Replace the operator name, address, and merchant-of-record terms before taking money. **Operator (placeholder):** CiteKit, operated by Dimitry (Canada). Payments will be taken by Polar (merchant of record), the seller of record for tax on the customer invoice. **Last updated:** 1 September 2026 ## 1. The product CiteKit sells a one-time digital pack of four text files generated from a single https URL that you submit: `llms.txt`, `schema.jsonld`, `faq.md`, and `README.md`. It is a file kit. It is not a subscription, not monitoring, not professional services, and not legal, SEO, or compliance advice. ## 2. Your URL You must submit a site you are authorized to fetch and to publish files for. We fetch that origin only (homepage and same-origin links, up to 8 pages, 2 MB each, 10 s budget). We do not crawl the rest of the internet on your behalf. If you submit a URL you do not control, we may refuse a refund. ## 3. No guarantees We do not promise that any agent, model, crawler, or search engine will read, quote, rank, or recommend your site after you install the pack. `/llms.txt` is a community convention (llmstxt.org v2). JSON-LD is machine-readable markup, not a Google Search appearance (FAQ rich results were retired in May 2026). You are responsible for what you paste onto your site. ## 4. Price, delivery, refunds Price is **USD $29** per site unless a page says otherwise. Delivery is a downloadable zip after Polar confirms payment. **7-day refund:** if the zip is empty, the install README does not match the files, or the generated `llms.txt` lacks an H1, contact support with the order id. Polar processes the refund. Chargebacks for “it didn’t get us cited” are not valid grounds — see §3. ## 5. Acceptable use No submitting `file:` URLs, localhost, private networks, or someone else’s origin to probe or scrape them. No using the generator to attack, fingerprint, or burden hosts. We fail closed on those URLs. ## 6. Intellectual property You keep the rights in your site’s public content. We keep the rights in CiteKit software, templates, and copy. We grant you a license to use the generated files on the submitted origin (and to edit them). Do not resell unmodified CiteKit packs as your own product. ## 7. Limitation of liability The product is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to the amount you paid for the pack that gave rise to the claim. ## 8. Changes We may update these terms. The version linked at checkout applies to that order.
